About Me...
Hello! I'm Jihee, a data scientist most recently at Meta the past 3 years with experience in product growth, ranking, and optimization.
As the primary data scientist on Facebook Dating leading across 6 domains, I collaborated with 40+ engineers and 3+ PMs to drive 20% YoY increase in Daily Active Users on Facebook Dating.
I spearheaded ad performance optimization which unlocked $5M in ad spending, grew engagement with smarter ranking algorithms, improved features like "People You May Date"
and Reels ad expansion, and also grew acquisition & retention through off-platform strategies like public relations and marketing.
Prior to Meta, I graduated from UC Berkeley with double majors in Statistics and Data Science, and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
My experiences include internships at Facebook, Google, and the University of California.
I passed Actuarial Exam P (Probability) and was a Finalist in UC Berkeley's 13th Actuarial Case Competition.
I believe in the power of using statistics & data science to empower and build new solutions that bring value into our world, and am seeking opportunities to apply data science in new spaces.
Projects
Created an app that awards a single sign-on discount for runners to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Applied statistical theory to devise a phase levels and rewards discount infrastructure used by the company.
Built a future forecast influenza model using time series model with U.S. Census data from 1950-2015 for the CDC "Forecast the Influenza Season Collaborative Challenge" national competition.
A web mapping project that spans all of Berkeley. Implemented the back end of a web server which determined and generated the appropriate outputs displayed in the web browser.
Conducted exploratory data analysis, created parametric models and differencing to pursue stationarity, and used SARIMA models to build the most accurate predictions of COVID-19 daily case rates for the next 10 days, 8/19/20 to 8/28/20.
Identified measures of happiness across the globe using life ladder scores using exploratory data analysis, hypotheses tests, and statistical models.
